"Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the
complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity."
~ Charles Mingus

I see, and I remember
I do, and I understand."

"Collaborage"
This sculpture project is in two parts: the making of the work, and
the Dallas exhibition of the work in Sept of 2010 at the Eisemann
Center. $1,500 in cash and prizes will be awarded at our opening
reception by three jurors. Each artist within a small group of
approximately three people began a sculpture. Each group member then
takes a turn working on each sculpture. This local project of
artists in central and north Texas emphasizes communication in
working together to create an integrated vision within each group,
in order to produce cohesive finished sculptures of contemporary and
fine art. All works come to completion this Summer. For more info on
our Collaborage exhibition, see Artful Events page.

work from a nationwide collaborative effort of artists across the
USA in 2007, which I participated in, see

Meta-Organica
~ Mixed Media Water Sculpture
SKU
# J5 ~ Cassandra Fink
This
piece is the first in a series and was designed to entertain underwater
creatures as well as land creatures. Each custom-made pond sculpture
is durable outdoor multi-purpose art for the pond, aerating the
water for healthier fish, and incorporating all 4 elements –
Fire:
Solar powered lighting at night-time makes the sculpture glow
from within like fireflies playing hide-and-seek.
Water: Sculpture's
water pump/fountain puts healthy negative ions into the air,
and oxygen into the water to keep your fish happy. Holes in
base allow fish to do some fun exploring.
Earth: Amethyst, smoky quartz
crystal clusters, copper, resin, carved plastic and slumped
glass make the piece heavier than it looks and ground it to
the pond floor.
Air: Exposure to the elements
outdoors encourages random zephyrs to breeze through and it
makes a great landing pad for dragonflies!
This
custom-made pond sculpture can be ordered in other shapes or sizes;
each is one of a kind and completely original. Please inquire
on prices. Contrary to outdated information, copper sculpture
in a pond is not a problem for Koi health. (Long term proof of
healthy Koi residing in a pond with copper metal over many years
has now been shown, and can be provided to you upon request).
